National Student Ombudsman Nauken Ulan and Student Ombudsman for Astana Aruzhan Bakhitova accompanied her on the tour.
The delegation got acquainted with the students’ living conditions: they inspected the rooms, kitchen, laundry, medical center, and other infrastructure.
“In general, the university has created excellent conditions for young people. There is a beauty salon, stores, a large medical center. All dormitories have a shower and a kitchen, but the availability of additional services here is the most pleasing. This is on par with dormitories abroad, which is why we support the creation of such conditions for young people,” Akerke Abylaikhan said.
She emphasized that the primary distinction of NU dormitories is the large number of student events and clubs. The Ministry is interested in disseminating similar experiences in other universities in the future.
In total, NU has 9 dormitories capable of housing more than 4,700 students. This is sufficient to accommodate all out-of-town students, including bachelor's, master's and doctoral students. The autumn semester at the university just began last week, but the check-in is still ongoing.
Note, according to the results of a survey conducted by AQYL ALEM among bachelors, NU scored the highest in terms of living conditions.
