In the laboratory, scientists from NU are engaged in the endeavor of crafting a human bone.

Can 3D bioprinters create human bones in a lab? A group of scientists, led by Dana Akylbekova, professor of biomedical engineering at NU, is currently engaged in this groundbreaking project. Stem cells are sourced for this laboratory from the National Biotechnology Center, where they are extracted from rat marrow. The brought quantity of 200,000 to 500,000 stem cells undergoes incubation within the laboratory, multiplying to 2-3 million. The country's sole 3D bioprinter is housed within this laboratory. Presently, the laboratory accommodates 9 scientists, including schoolchildren who participate in crafting of 3D organs. Find the full article in the Aikyn newspaper.
