Professor Nurxat Nuraje, from the School of Engineering and Digital Science and Head of the Renewable Energy Laboratory at National Laboratory Astana, has been named an Honorary Professor of Karaganda Buketov University.
The recognition was presented during the international conference “Chemistry of the Silk Road: Modern Chemical Technologies and Science,” celebrating the 100th anniversary of the distinguished scientist and first rector of the university, Academician Yevney Buketov.
For over a decade, Professor Nuraje has advanced collaboration between Nazarbayev University and Karaganda University, mentoring six PhD students, co-authoring around 30 papers in Scopus-indexed journals, and teaching graduate courses. He also served as a guest editor for a special issue of the Karaganda University Bulletin on polymers and nanotechnology. Joint research led by Professor Nuraje focuses on developing Kazakhstan’s first hydrogen station, built by universities as part of their research project.
“Collaboration between universities helps nurture the next generation of researchers who will shape Kazakhstan’s sustainable energy future,” said Professor Nuraje.
