Amanzhol Turlybekuly, Senior Researcher at the National Laboratory Astana (NLA), is developing a gas sensor that can determine if a person has diabetes based on their breath.

According to him, due to a certain reaction of a human body, a person’s breath may smell like acetone. The NU scientist's gas sensor measures the concentration of acetone in the breath and determines the level of glucose in the blood, reports El.kz.
