Share this articleAbout 300 participants from 84 universities attended the VIII Meeting of the Offices of the Registrar—2024 at NU on October 3-4.
The program covered a wide range of issues related to academic support, process automation, application verification, student career development, and quality education management. Representatives of leading Kazakh universities, international universities, state bodies, and private companies actively engaged in sharing their experiences and best practices for establishing administrative and academic processes, fostering a sense of collective learning and growth.
The framework of the VIII Meeting included three panels and nine parallel sessions. By attending the panel sessions, representatives of the Department of Digitalization and Public Services at the Kazakh Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Social Health Insurance Fund and JSC Financial Center raised current issues of monitoring state grants, student health insurance, and integration of information systems of higher education. Participants discussed problems, expressed suggestions for joint solutions to improve these processes, and paid particular attention to the flexibility of system management and digitalization aimed to optimize the work of the Offices of Registrar.
At the closing ceremony, Saltanat Beisembina, Registrar and Director General of Student Progress of Nazarbayev University underlined the importance of creating a platform and following the tradition of meetings of the Offices of Registrar, which continues to play a key role in improving the quality of academic services at universities in Kazakhstan. The meeting ended with overwhelmingly positive feedback from the participants, who noted the importance of discussing topical issues and sharing experiences for the development of the higher education system, providing reassurance about the relevance and impact of the meeting.
