The first factory in Central Asia to produce coronary stents and balloons based on the technopark of NU was opened in Astana. Domestic production will allow local cardio centers to purchase medical devices 30% cheaper than similar imported ones. The production of coronary stents and balloons will be carried out by IHT Central Asia LLP in accordance with the obtained licenses for their production. This is a Kazakh-Spanish enterprise for the production of medical devices, located in the Technopark of NU. According to Seitzhan Sypabekov, the head of the enterprise, the opening of such a factory is significant for Kazakhstan, and it will allow replacing imported products with local ones, Khabar 24 reports.
