The NU librarians implemented the "Sauatty Keleşek" social project in collaboration with the National professional development center "Өrleu" and the Republican scientific-pedagogical library with the support of the NU Social development fund.

More than 450 people expressed a desire to participate in the information sessions. In addition to the online workshops, those who wished to attend had access to training via the project's Web site and YouTube channel and on-site lectures.

During the month, the NU librarians introduced the school librarians, teachers, and students of the Akmola region to modern digital technologies. They taught them the skills of working with digital information and the basics of inclusion.

According to Peter Lapo, Chief Expert at NU Library, inclusiveness in librarianship is more than just the font shifting on the website.

"There should be a whole complex of measures eliminating barriers that prevent a person with special needs from getting full access to information, starting from creating an appropriate informational and psychological environment and ending with training in new technologies. The information library service must respect the rights of all participants in the information process: the rights of owners of intellectual property and the right of every citizen, including all students and teachers, to access to information", - said Peter Lapo.  Read more in the material Bilimdinews.kz in Russian.
