Share this articleNU President Waqar Ahmad held a meeting with student-athletes, where he indicated that the university plans to increase its support for sports.
“We want people with all kinds of talent in the university. We’ve got fantastic sports facilities, but we don’t do as much to attract outstanding sportspeople. It is something that I want us to concentrate on. I’ve instructed colleagues to come up with a concept on how we can develop sports. We will support your development, not just as scholars, but also as athletes,” the President said during the meeting.
Representatives of several NU sports clubs attended the event, including teams such as football, basketball, swimming, chess, taekwondo, kickboxing, tennis, and others. All clubs shared their recent achievements at the first Student Sports League held at NU in May.
