It is the first time the Summit's discussions are happening around digital education and artificial intelligence usage in the learning process.

More than 500 thousand educators from around Kazakhstan are participating in the Republican August Summit. The three-day Summit began with an exhibition where digital products based on artificial intelligence were displayed. The Summit consisted of various workshops, plenary and breakout sessions. The NU Graduate School of Education traditionally participates in this large-scale event.

As NU President Waqar Ahmad noted, the Summit's topics of digitalization of educational processes and implementation of AI in learning are of great importance. "It is no coincidence that the event was held at NU. Out Graduate School of Education annually participates in the August Summit of Educators; our professors share their experiences with college teachers and rural school principals. GSE creates professional development programs using digital technologies. At the workshop, our professors discuss how school principals can use digital tools in their teaching processes and share effective strategies to help school leaders implement class innovations. In doing so, the university supports the professional development of the nation's teaching workforce by helping teachers and school leaders develop, adapt and succeed in their work."

One of the sessions was dedicated to supporting educators in technical and vocational education. Zhanyl Zhontayeva, Director for Professional Development Programs and doctoral student Andrey Scherbakov discussed how the NU Graduate School of Education creates professional development programs using digital technologies. These programs are research-based and, through the use of digital tools, meet the needs of educators.

NU professors also held a separate section on school leadership for principals of rural schools. In the breakout session, participants discussed how principals can lead their schools through the challenges and opportunities of digitalization. NU Associate Professor and Director of the GSE PhD program Mir Afzal Tajik and Assistant Professor Kairat Kurakbayev shared their expertise on school leadership in the digital age. Tsediso Michael Makoelle, Vice Dean For Research & Doctoral Studies in Education and professor of Inclusive Education & Educational Leadership at GSE made a presentation on "Digital Inclusive Education". The August Summit of Educators is an opportunity to share knowledge and continue building strong ties with educators who are shaping the future of national education, noted NU GSE representatives.
