Dear NU Community!
As you know, the residents of Kazakhstan today face the largest floods in 80 years. The government has declared a state of emergency in ten regions and is carrying out evacuation. The affected regions are Abay, Akmola, Aktobe, Atyrau, West Kazakhstan, Karagandy, Kostanai, Pavlodar, North Kazakhstan, and Ulytau regions. As a result of the disaster, more than 3,700 houses were completely flooded, while some have been partially affected, and more than 76,000 people lost their homes. In this situation, people require basic necessities, warm clothing, heat generators, carpets, etc.
NU cannot stand aside and is ready to help citizens affected by the floods. We announce the Solidarity Initiative - a charity fundraising campaign to send necessary items to the affected regions and people.
