Share this articleThe seminar, titled «Ambassadors of Peace», brought together over twenty schoolchildren and teachers from various regions of Kazakhstan.
The event was organized by the NU Graduate School of Education with support from the University's Social Development Fund.
Participants from Akmola, Zhambyl, East Kazakhstan, Ulytau, Mangystau regions, and Astana engaged in the important topic of «Conflict Resolution to Support and Build Peaceful Schools». They learned how to prevent bullying in schools, recognize its signs, and gained other valuable insights during the seminar. The aim is for them to apply this knowledge in their respective schools.
Upon returning to their schools, teachers and students plan to implement projects focusing on developing self-control skills in conflict situations, establishing student organizations to prevent and combat bullying, and forming communities of peace ambassadors among students.
Nazerke Kamalova, a 9th-grade student from Aktau, shared her plans: «I intend to introduce extracurricular activities for 7th-8th graders on the importance of self-control during conflicts, as often parties refuse to listen to each other and insist on their own correctness. I am sure this will be beneficial not only for others but also for the conflicting individuals themselves. I also plan to organize various events to improve student relationships».
The seminar proved to be productive and inspiring, encouraging participants to actively collaborate in creating safe and supportive atmospheres in schools.
