Biography:
Dr Roman Vakulchuk works as head of Climate and Energy Re search Group at the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI), one of the leading foreign policy think tanks in Norway. He also works as Visiting Lecturer at the OSCE Academy in Bishkek and the Nord University in Bodo, Norway. Roman holds a Ph.D. in Economics obtained from Jacobs University Bremen in Germany. He consulted various government institutions and more than 30 international organizations such as the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the German Development Cooperation (GIZ), Natural Resource Governance Institute (NRGI), OECD, the World Bank and many others on economic reform, climate change, renewable energy in Asia and Europe. In 2013, Vakulchuk was awarded the prestigious Gabriel-Al Salem International Award for Excellence in Consulting. His recent publications include: “A void in Central Asia research: climate change”, “Central Asia is a missing link in analyses of critical materials for the global clean energy transition”, “Climate change in Central Asia: Decarbonization, energy transition and climate policy”.
